This video is very meaningful. It reveals what people have done and the consequence we may suffer.

First the play an important role in the stuff consumption chain, and merchants only have one purpose which is making profit. So they want stuff flows quickly, they want people throw stuff and buy new one.

There is a big problem that the government always say yes to the corporations since they are the main source of the tax,. So the corporations can use the natural resource without any monitoring, which makes a lot of trees have been cut down and waterways been polluted with industrial chemical used . And on the other hand, the government works for a nice GDP performance by encourage the public shopping all the time. They like people always buying new goods and throw away something used. It’s wasting the limited natural resource to maximize people’s unlimited needs.

On the other hand, the corporations always produce more and more products to make the biggest profits. So they usually make different styles, different colours to attract people’s interests with same stuff and bad quality, which can make people renew their goods more frequent than usual. It is unethical to the public. And they also make a wrong direction of public opinion. Now people always pursue on the different style, different design but ignoring how long we can use the goods and how useful they are in live. So people always waste the natural resource by shopping a lot, but they never notice that.



To conclusion, when designing a product we should not only concern the market but also the environment, especially the resource. So we should improve the material and the assemble process in order to reduce the waste. And the quality of the product is also important, especially some big products like cars computers, we should extend their use life in order to save the resources.
